OCR Computer Science is above all else relevant to the modern and changing world of Computing. Computer Science is a practical subject where learners can apply the academic principles learned in the classroom to real world systems.

It is an intensely creative subject that combines invention and excitement. This A level will value computational thinking, helping learners to develop the skills to solve problems, design systems and understand the power and limits of human and machine intelligence.

Learners will develop the ability to analyse, critically evaluate and make decisions. The project approach is a vital component of post school life and is of particular relevance to higher education and the work place. Each learner is able to tailor their project to their induvial needs, choices and aspirations.

Grade 6 in GCSE Computer Science and in Maths plus 5 in English Language

This A level provides an excellent pathway to further study Computer Science at degree level in university. The skills and knowledge gained can lead to a range of jobs.  Computer Science can be found in all the major working sectors of industry from government, healthcare, policing, transport and retail to name but a few. The armed forces are also delighted to get recruits with an interest in Computer Science.
